COSPLAY TUTORIAL: ZELDA – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild [Part 2 | SILENT PRINCESS]

Hello little turtle and welcome to a new Cosplay Tutorial! In this second and final article dedicated to Zelda from Breath of the Wild, I’ll show you how I created her favorite flower: the Silent Princess. Also, don’t forget that here you can find the link to download all the patterns related to it. Just download the PDF, start printing, and follow the instructions—or of course, follow the video at the end of this article. Let’s get started step by step…

THE PETALS

First, take the petals already cut from a 1 or 2 mm foam sheet, preferably white. Glue the petals together to form a semicircle (1). Then, join the last petal of the series with the first one, again using contact glue (2, 3).

Using a heat gun, warm each petal and fold it in half to create the central vertical groove (4). Take a piece of wire and bend one end to form a small loop (5) so that, once inserted into the flower’s corolla, it stays in place (6).

Glue everything together and add smaller petals by threading them onto the wire, thus attaching them to the main flower’s corolla.

THE STEM

For the stem of the Silent Princess, I heat some Worbla and cover the entire wire, also trying to create leaves and extra stems in the central part of the stem itself (7). Using Foam Clay, I also make buds and the pistil that will complete the flower (8, 9). I let the Foam Clay rest for 24-48 hours.

PRIMING AND PAINTING

And here we are again with this part of the Cosplay Tutorial: choosing the primer and paints! Once again, I choose to use our trusty Flexi Paint as primer. For the actual painting phase, I use an airbrush to color the stem and leaves green, apply light blue and white gradients on the petals and the bud (10, 11), and even though the original flower has no hint of purple, I paint the central part of the Silent Princess exactly in this color (12).

I made this choice because, in my opinion, it looks much more colorful, bright, and realistic with this particular combination of shades. Think of it as a poetic license I allowed myself. I add details here and there and paint the pistil and stamens with a yellow-orange color. The flower… is ready!

COSPLAY TUTORIAL: THE FINAL RESULT

Speaking of poetic licenses, the original flower is theoretically smaller, almost like a little wild daisy, but I think with these proportions the photographic result is incredibly better!

Cosplaying is not just about merely copying what you see in the references, but also about interpreting what you create: the important thing is to make conscious choices.

And that was the last video of the series. If you want to stay updated on future tutorials, all you have to do is subscribe to the newsletter. Don’t worry, I won’t send you any spam—just interesting tidbits about the world of cosplay and, of course, monthly updates on new articles! I don’t like being overwhelmed by emails, and I certainly won’t flood you with useless messages!

Thank you for your attention, my little turtle, and we’ll see each other in the next project. Bye!
